Vĩnh Long is a province well known for fishing. Its population is 1,023,400 and its area is 1,475 km²

The terrain is quite flat. The complex network of rivers and canals make convenient transportation. The soil is rich in alluvium, favorable for rice and various fruit cultivation.

Fruit stalls along the street in Vĩnh Long market, selling ripe and green mangos, plums, and milk apples.
